At the IV Conference "Down Syndrome: from diagnosis to therapy" were discussed issues related to the molecular mechanisms of this disease, new acquisitions in the therapeutic field, the directions of national and international scientific research. A Round Table was also held, open to non-experts, entitled:

What are the expectations in the dialogue between researchers, associations and family members of Down syndrome persons?

We discussed the objectives of the scientific community, the expectations of family members and how to create, on these issues, an effective synergy useful to promote in our country an awareness of the value of scientific research and an effective method of dissemination of scientific culture.
