Some MMBM PhD lectures will be held outdoors
The PhD course in Molecular Medicine and Medical Biotechnology has started a series of training activities that will be held outdoors. Suitable spaces have been identified for this purpose among the lawns of the Policlinico of the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Federico II (see photo). Not all activities will be able to take place in this way, not only because of the dependence on weather conditions, but also because some activities, such as the weekly Data Clubs, need appropriate environments for the projections aimed at presenting the results of scientific research.
This cycle was started by Prof. Lucio Nitsch, who gave a lecture on Monod and the origin of life, and Prof. Paola Merolla, who gave a seminar on the use of scientific English language in biomedicine. The activities took place in compliance with all the rules of caution provided to counter the pandemic of COVID-19. The opportunity to talk in presence, after many months of activities carried out online, was greatly appreciated by all participants who expressed great satisfaction and the desire to continue this experience. The persons in charge of the educational activities of the PhD are therefore identifying new types of activities that are more free from the use of specific technologies and privilege personal participation in the exchange of ideas and interactive debate.
